I am married and my husband supports me in my business endeavors and encourages me to to keep striving to help people. How I Arrived Here:
When I graduated high school I completed an academy to become a state certified corrections officer for my local sheriffs office. I then enrolled in college with hopes of becoming a juvenile probation officer. Two weeks before I completed my criminal justice degree I was diagnosed with Crohns Disease. I am not going to go in to details of explaining the disease other than it limits my physical activity most days due to pain and not needing to be exposed to physical altercations for fear of being hit in my bowel. When I was diagnosed I had a job offer of working as a corrections officer at my local juvenile facility and was feeling very accomplished because I was well on my way to accomplishing my childhood dream. As you can imagine I had to turn the job down due to my health condition and not taking the chance of making my condition worse and it effecting my family.
I struggled for almost two years after that trying to find a way I could contribute to my family and still be at home with my kids. I tried affiliate programs on the Internet and several business in a box opportunities all which never worked for me because I had no passion there. I wanted to work with kids and use my criminal justice knowledge.
My kids were finally old enough to get on the Internet and I started getting concerned about their safety while they were on there. One day I started doing some research and noticed there were not many sites that offered education to parents on how to safe guard their children while they were online and if the page was there it sounded like french to someone with no computer skills. From there my idea grew and I researched programs to help with monitoring activity and educating parents. I taught myself how to build a webpage step by step until I had built this one and changed it several times to get it just right and make it easy to understand and navigate for our not so experienced parents.
As you can tell I am just an average person like most of you. I am not filthy rich, I am a stay at home mom with two wonderful children that are my life. I fund the website from the sales I make at this point I am barely making a profit but as long as I am helping people and possibly saving children's lives it is worth it to me.
