| Social Networking Detectives Free Report Thank you for requesting our free report! We have been researching social networking sites in order to keep our customers informed on what the newest trends are and how to keep you and your loved ones safe. The very first thing you need to keep in mind is that if you are a parent with a kid on a social networking site then it is very important that you know what your child's password is for all of their social networking sites. This is important for a number of reasons. First and foremost to keep an eye on what they are saying to people. The language they are using when talking to their friends is often times an issue. Also the pictures they may post for the whole Internet to see. You need to keep track of who is on their friends list, and make sure they are all supposedly around their age. People randomly try to add people they might find interesting. Also make sure that their page is setup so that only their friends can view what they post. That way it keeps strangers from being able to search your child's page and gather details that can be used to approach them at a later date and make them feel like they do know who they are when in all reality they are some pervert that is only out to harm your child. Also make sure your child is changing their password often for these sites because there are several programs on the net that are made for hacking people's passwords and someone can access all of their personal details, or add things to their page to make your child look like a bad person. I have seen this happen many times on Myspace. They get into an argument with a friend and then the person that is mad at them will find a way to get their password and change the layout on their page to something degrading. One that sticks out in my mind is a case in which two teenagers were arguing and the one hacked the others Myspace page and changed the layout to a Bob The Builder layout that said "Can We Hit It, Yes We Can!" For those of you who don't what "hit it" means it is modern day slang for can you have sex with someone. The police were contacted in this case and there was nothing they could do because they had no way of proving who did it even though the parents had documented conversations of the argument that took place before it happened. So the child of course had to go make a new profile but all of there friends already had the address to the profile that had the sexually suggestive layout on it. Be sure you are staying involved and check their site regularly using their password and go through every single thing on their page. We will be working on a parent check list of what to check on each site in the days to come to help you make sure you are checking every nook and cranny of their social networking sites. We care about your child's safety and are here to help you. For the checklists and more information on the latest developments and predators spotted on these sites please sign up below to have them emailed to you.
